Eligible North Canterbury businesses will be able to access up to
$5,000 to put towards a range of approved support services thanks to the
Regional Business Partner (RBP) COVID-19 Advisory Funding.
The fund will be administered locally by Enterprise North
Canterbury (ENC) - the local Regional Business Partner. ENC Business Support
Manager Miles Dalton says the announcement of the advisory fund is a real boost
for small businesses.
“Right now, businesses need all the help and support they can get.
We’re thrilled with the Government’s business support package to date, and to
be able to offer this additional funding to help eligible businesses is great
news,” he said.
The Regional Business Partner Network was apportioned $4m from the
Government’s business response package, $1.5m of which will be given to
businesses through this COVID-19 Advisory Fund. Businesses will be able to
access up to $5,000 (ex GST) each to fully fund one-on-one advice and support
in the following areas:
- HR
- Health and wellness
- Business continuity planning
- Finance and cashflow management
To be eligible for funding, businesses will need to have met with
an RBP Growth Advisor (Miles Dalton or Guy Graham at ENC) and have registered
on the RBP Platform. Funding will be at the discretion of the Growth
Advisors with the aim to provide funds to as many eligible businesses as
possible.
In addition to meeting with an ENC Growth Advisor,
businesses will need to meet the following criteria:
Have fewer than 50 full time equivalent employees
Be registered for GST in New Zealand
Be operating in a commercial environment
Be a privately owned businesses, or a Maori Trust
or incorporation under the Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993 or similar
organisation managing Maori assets under multiple ownership.
