Dear
Members and Friends of the Network:
2020 marks the beginning of the “Decade of Action". It will be a landmark year as we
begin the decade of delivery for Agenda 2030 and the SDGs with the launch of
our historic 20th
anniversary campaign, in alignment with the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
There are
many opportunities to engage through Network USA as we begin this “Decade of
Action”, which are outlined below. In particular, I would like to highlight our
recently launched search for this year’s SDG Pioneer for
Global Compact Network USA. We are seeking applications from (and nominations
for) business leaders from any
level of our member companies who are doing an exceptional job to advance the
Global Goals through the implementation of our Ten Principles on human rights,
labour, environment, and anti-corruption. Applications are due by April
15. The winner will be recognized by Network USA and will be nominated for global
recognition to the UN Global Compact.
Sincerely,
Adam Roy Gordon
Engagement Director, Network USA

|
|
The program is an opportunity for participating companies of
the UN Global Compact to identify young talent within their organizations to
collaborate and accelerate business innovation towards the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs). This
ten-month accelerator program activates future business leaders and
changemakers to develop and drive innovative solutions through new
technologies, initiatives, and business models and deliver on their company’s
sustainability objectives. The Young SDG Innovators Program is designed to
engage your company’s brightest and best talent in not only advancing your
sustainability efforts but driving innovation and delivering tangible solutions
with potential market value for your company.
The current cohort met recently,
representing 8 Industry-leading companies. They spent the week learning how to
harness sustainable innovation, grow their solutions value propositions, competitive
advantages, and the art of persuasion in preparation of their final pitches at
the United Nations in June, 2020.
Their journey to achieving
breakthrough innovations are far from over, and it was encouraging to see the
coming together of some of the brightest minds trying to start the conversation
on solving the most complex issues of today and tomorrow.
