Olympia Hindu Temple & Cultural Center
Welcomes
Greater Olympia Hindu Community
Thank you to all the greater Olympia Hindu community who have generously agreed to support, volunteer and donate to establish the Hindu Temple & Cultural Center in Olympia. OHTCC is thrilled to have your support. You all truly make the difference in the community, and OHTCC is extremely grateful!

Olympia Hindu Temple is in it's early stages of taking shape to create a safe space for all the community members of the Indian Sub-Continent in the Olympia area to gather, worship, meditate, introspect and perform religious rituals that help express the spiritual faith of Hinduism a centuries-old belief system rooted in ancient Hindu tradition.

Why do we need a temple in the Olympia area?

The nearest temple for our community is anywhere from 70 to 100 miles, from Olympia, which creates a barrier for members of our community to come together and perform rituals that helps us express the Hindu faith. Hence it is of paramount interest of all the folks from the Indian Sub-Continent to have a faith-based place of worship in the Olympia area.

What is the Mission?

OHTCC mission is to provide a place that supports Olympia Hindu Community with various spiritual, religious, cultural, educational and charitable activities or organizations in the United States and around the world.

What is our Vision?

Upon establishing a temporary place of worship, OHTCC vision is to, expand and build a larger temple in the Olympia area that facilitates worship and services to nurture and enrich the Hindu traditional values for all devotees.

Few details on the community engagement efforts
Volunteers are actively approaching various community members from the Indian Sub-Continent. These interactions have been extremely positive and are receiving an overwhelmingly constructive response for the idea of developing a temple for worship. Many families have come forward to voluntarily donate needed resources for the realization of Olympia Hindu Temple. More and more families have been contacted to garner support and generate enthusiasm to bring this idea to fruition.  So far nearly 130 families have been contacted and a significant number of them have pledged financial contributions while the rest have committed to volunteer their time. Many of the community members are extremely excited and stand ready to realize this sacred endeavor.

What is the anticipated date of opening the Olympia Hindu Temple & Cultural Center?

The anticipated opening date for the Olympia Hindu Temple & Cultural Center is in May/June 2020 (subject to change due to COVID-19 impact). Currently work is in progress to reach out to more individuals from the community along with active efforts to secure a potential place to rent for the temple. The idea is to have sufficient capability to hold 70-80 families at one time with sufficient parking space. Please look forward for an update on this website www.ohtccwa.org (still under construction) regarding the details of the OHTCC location, anticipated inauguration, and associated details.
