Dear Guest

Since its official launch last month, MADE NORTH CANTERBURY has continued to make great inroads, this time with the support of Rangiora New World who is hosting the first North Canterbury Food & Beverage Showcase event in April. This event will occur at other New World supermarkets in future, showcasing the breadth, quality and availability of our incredible North Canterbury food and beverages.

Also coming up in April we have the launch of the 2021 North Canterbury Business AwardsWe're thrilled to be hosting this event after last year's hiatus and we know our business community will get involved once again to celebrate all the amazing businesses that make up North Canterbury. This event couldn't happen without the generosity of our sponsors, who we would like to extend a huge thank you to.

And speaking of generosity - we would like to make a special mention of ENC's Corporate Sponsor Mainpower. Mainpower has been supporting ENC for almost 20 years and have also thrown their support behind the North Canterbury Business Awards since 2008. They return as Lead Sponsors of the event once again this year. So much of what we do here at ENC wouldn't be possible without the ongoing sponsorship of Mainpower and we are truly grateful for everything they do.

Kind regards,

Heather Warwick, CEO

For some it's the location, for others, the ease of doing business, the sense of community or the amazing work/life balance. Whatever the reason, hundreds of business owners have chosen to set up and operate their businesses in the Waimakariri District. Every so often we sit down with a local business owner to find out Why Waimakariri?

For Lisa Willetts, the move to North Canterbury from Christchurch was all about lifestyle. In 2013, Lisa and her family were drawn to the peace, slower pace and close community of the Waikuku area. And it’s these elements that Lisa wants to share with visitors to her collaborative business venture, The Old School Collective.
