Would You Like to Adopt or Sponsor Rio?

Diamond Rio was found wandering in the desert by the Department of Agriculture. He was apparently stolen and used for running illegal drugs. His leg is permanently injured due to being caught in rifle crossfire and left alone, bleeding, and almost dead. When Rio first arrived at Equine Voices, he would not let anyone catch him. Today, knowing that he's in a safe place with people who love him, he nickers when he sees people, enjoys being groomed and loves being walked.  If you would like to sponsor or adopt Rio, please call the office at 520-398-2814 or email April at April@EquineVoices.org

Nat'l Directory Making it Easier to Report Cruelty

The National Link Coalition – the National Resource Center on The Link between Animal Abuse and Human Violence — has published the first National Directory of Abuse Investigation Agencies, a listing which agencies investigate reports of animal, child and elder abuse and domestic violence in 6,513 counties, cities and towns.

The free Directory was created in response to a serious gap in animal shelters’ public information: although all humane societies say they prevent cruelty to animals and all animal control agencies say they enforce ordinances, relatively few organizations specifically say on their websites or Facebook pages whether they investigate animal cruelty. Because of this information gap and the lack of uniform systems for investigating cruelty reports, many people don’t know who they should call in their local community.
