Biognosys Introduces Two Major Software Updates and Pushes the Standards of Next Generation Proteomics

Dear Subscriber,

We are proud to announce the launch of two major software updates: SpectroDive 9.0 at the 2019 annual congress of the European Proteomics Association (EuPA) in Potsdam, Germany and QuiC 3.0 at the 2019 annual meeting of the Association of Biomolecular Research Facilities (ABRF) in San Antonio, USA.

SPECTRODIVE 9.0 - NEXT GENERATION TARGETED PROTEOMICS

Targeted proteomics is the best analytical approach when a selected set of proteins needs to be quantified with high selectivity, sensitivity and reproducibility. Current workflows are technically capable of high multiplexing, allowing for the quantification of hundreds of proteins. To uncover this potential, new approaches for the development and handling of optimized assay panels, as well as more efficient acquisition methods, were needed.

With SpectroDive 9.0, Biognosys offers several solutions to reveal the highly multiplexed capabilities of targeted proteomics:

  1. Ready-made assay panels that don’t require any development. With routine investigations of human blood plasma samples in mind, Biognosys developed PQ500, a ready-made kit including stable isotope standards for the targeted analysis of more than 500 proteins. Integrating PQ500 into SpectroDive provides researchers with a largely expanded and easy to use panel of proteins.
  2. Simplified workflow for generation of large custom panels. Build your custom panel using a spectral library as a base. Let SpectroDive intelligently decide which peptides and fragments are the best or manually select them.
  3. High Precision iRT Calibration for method scheduling to target more candidates. Acquire more targets by optimizing the scheduling of your method. Use non-linear gradients to avoid edge effects with early or late eluting peptides.

The new features of SpectroDive 9.0 include:

  • MS1 support for PRMImproved confidence in peak picking and scoring of PRM data by using MS1 information.
  • MaxQuant.Live support: Analysis of MaxQuant.Live acquired data; inclusion list export in MaxQuant.Live compatible format
  • Improved peak picking: High quality automated peak picking algorithm. Accurate false discovery rate estimates result in increased confidence in peptide identification, specifically with larger panels.
  • Integration of the search engine PulsarFast and scalable library generation for assay development based on Biognosys’ embedded search engine.
  • Easier assay panel generation: Intuitive and automated selection of the best suited peptides for any target protein assay.
  • Improved schedulingEnabled by High Precision iRT Calibration derived from MRM, PRM, DIA, or DDA from within SpectroDive.

SpectroDive 9.0 is now open for purchase and you can request a trial here.

QUIC 3.0 – NEXT GENERATION PROTEOMICS FACILITY MANAGEMENT

Time is precious in an MS facility, and we are actively seeking better ways to guide the management of MS instruments towards immediate and accurate instrument performance diagnosis.

QuiC is a comprehensive and intuitive package that maximizes LC-MS instrument usage through near real-time monitoring of dozens of performance metrics. It supports various LC-MS vendors across all major proteomics workflows (MRM, PRM, DIA, DDA). This allows for rapid identification, diagnosis and resolution of any MS data acquisition issues.

The new features of QuiC 3.0 at launch will include:

  • Even quicker than before: We have improved the usability and performance to analyze as well as visualize more results faster.
  • Control in the hands of the user: User threshold control on any performance metrics.
  • QuiC for all: We offer instrument overview of an entire facility (high level overview) as well as detailed QC information (on individual run level)
  • Better LC-MS run management: Now users can easily sort, filter and select runs.
  • Improved support for spectral libraries and new support for database searching based on a FASTA file.
  • Intelligent summary of QC metrics through simple and intuitive heatmap visualization.

Note: QuiC requires the Biognosys’ iRT Kit or HRM Calibration Kit to enable automated, fast and accurate QC monitoring of your data sets.

QuiC 3.0 will be entering the beta testing phase on May 2nd. You can’t wait for the full release? No problem! Sign up now, to become an exclusive beta tester, just follow the link below for more information.
As always, we are happy for your feedback; just reply to this email to let us know what you think about Biognosys, its services and tools!

Best,
- The Biognosys Team
