The European Forum for Urban Security (Efus) promotes the sharing of experiences among European local authorities according to the principle of “cities helping cities.” Read about the initiatives taken by our member local authorities to prevent radicalisation. (...)


Representatives from European municipalities and civil society organisations took part in a two-day study visit in Essen (Germany) about harm reduction schemes such as supervised drug consumption rooms. (...)


The one-day colloquium on “Supervised Drug Consumption Facilities in Europe: evaluation and prospects” will be held on 3 April 2019 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg (France). It will feature exchanges on numerous European experiences, the different legislative frameworks and how they are changing, as well as on innovations and future prospects. (...)


Efus will submit in the coming weeks three projects for funding to the European Commission on the prevention of radicalisation and that of racism. The first one (Internal Security Fund Proposal-ISFP call) concerns the prevention of radicalisation in various ways: by targeting young people, focusing on community involvement, focusing on local action, or through a multi-agency approach. The second one (Erasmus + Sport) seeks to prevent violence, racism and intolerance in sport. The third one (Rights, Equality and Citizenship programme) seeks to prevent and fight racism, xenophobia, homophobia and other forms of intolerance, including online. The city of Liege has been working for several years on the issue of radicalisation, notably through Efus-led European projects. (...) 




The 2019 General Assembly meeting, originally scheduled for April, has been postponed to 25 and 26 June and will be held as planned in Augsburg, Germany. On this occasion, Efus, the German forum (DEFUS) and the City of Augsburg invite you to the European colloquium on “The local dimension of European urban security policies: cities and regions for security and democracy”. Efus organised in Paris on 25 January the kickoff meeting of the new Partnership on the security of public spaces of the European Union's Urban Agenda, which it coordinates together with the cities of Nice (FR) and Madrid (ES). (...) 




Organised every year in Cologne (DE), the Come Together Cup (CTC) is a charity football tournament featuring LGBT players. With about 60 teams and some 25,000 spectators, the CTC spreads a message of tolerance.  (...)
