Dear Guest

ENC remains committed to using every tool at our disposal to maintain North Canterbury’s momentum and support our region, its enterprises and people to manage the impacts of Covid-19. ENC has now distributed more than $225,000 in grants to over 260 enterprises, connecting them with specialist professional services advice to help them respond. We have only 20 cashflow forecasting grants left to distribute before the 19th of JuneEmail us if you need a $400 grant to get a new cashflow forecast updated that you can use when talking to the bank or Inland Revenue.

ENC has partnered with MSD in the past and we are grateful to have Michelle Becks from MSD join our team, commencing Monday 8th of June to work directly with those employers who may be looking to decrease their staffing levels and those seeking to employ more staff. Michelle has extensive knowledge of North Canterbury and the new government schemes available to employers and will act as a conduit to inform and connect them to the support available to them. Government funded but delivered locally.

ENC has also been busy been leading two significant projects for North Canterbury: The Aquasports Park in Kaiapoi has moved one step closer to reality today and the Wheels to Waipara cycle trail has made the top 800 projects being considered by the Crown Infrastructure Fund.

It was great to see the buzz in our towns and villages over the long weekend and with NZ dropping to Level 1 ‘as fast and as safe as possible’ we should see a lift in hospitality and retail trading. Do continue to get out and enjoy what our two districts have to offer, we live and do business in a wonderful part of New Zealand.

Kind regards,

Heather Warwick, CEO

Business Headlines

An Olympic-level Aquasports park is one step closer to calling Kaiapoi home after the concept gained support from Waimakariri District Council (WDC), who will provide a short term lease on former red zone land so the project can continue to progress.

Enterprise North Canterbury (ENC) Chief Executive Heather Warwick says the project has the potential to be a huge boon for the local economy. "Having been pivotal in bringing this project to Waimakariri, ENC is thrilled to see it progress closer to a reality with the support of WDC."
