Local Business News & Updates | |
- We're on the hunt for amazing business images! At ENC, part of our role is to promote and celebrate businesses in the area and inspire others to establish their business here in North Canterbury. To do this, we can think of nothing better than using amazing photos of our existing local business community. If you have professional-quality, high-resolution images of your business that you are happy to permit ENC to use in our marketing, please email them to amelia@enterprisenc.co.nz.
We will use these on our website and online marketing, and will attribute every photo to your business. We can't wait to see what you've got!

- ENC Sponsor Ara is inviting North Canterbury businesses to advertise any job opportunities they may have, free of charge, on their online job board: CareerHub. CareerHub opportunities are emailed automatically to relevant students, graduates and staff to alert them and encourage them to apply. Ara is also running daily ‘employer lunchtime sessions’ 12-1pm for employers to come onsite to promote their organisation and opportunities to students. This has proven so popular over the past few weeks that more sessions have been added. The sessions are available at Ara's Madras St campus or their Trades campus - both in Christchurch. To advertise on CareerHub click here. To book an employer lunchtime session email careers@ara.ac.nz.
- ENC Sponsor Ravenswood has donated a total of $31,000 to Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust. The money - comprising a $5,000 initial donation and $26,000 from a portion of section sales - will help CWNCT support local families requiring support due to Covid-19. What an amazing contribution!
- Congratulations to the three North Canterbury businesses who have been nominated as finalists in the 2020 Canterbury Hospitality Awards: Rangiora Smokehouse (Emerging Chef Award); Black Estate (Outstanding Wine Experience Award and Outstanding Regional Establishment Award); and Greystone Wines (Outstanding Wine Experience Award and New Venue/Establishment Award). Good luck for the awards on November 2nd! To support your favourite North Canterbury nominee, submit your People's Choice Vote here.
- Congratulations to all the North Canterbury wineries who took home medals and trophies at the recent New Zealand International Wine Awards, including Mud House, Greystone and Mount Brown Estates (Double Gold!). View the full list of winners here.
- Mount Brown Estates also took home a gold medal at the New World Wine Awards, while Waiata and The Crater Rim each scored two golds. Congratulations all.
- Another notable wine win: 27Seconds has taken home Gold in the Alpine Pacific Wine Challenge for their Pinot Gris. Well done!
- A round of applause for Rangiora's Fools of Desire cafe which has received a 2020 Travellers' Choice Award from TripAdvisor. Amazing work, team!
- Congratulations to Waikuku's Catherine Dalton Photography for receiving a Bronze Award in the Documentary category of the recent Rise Interntational Photography Awards. Well deserved.
