COVID-19 Special Edition Newsletter:
April 13, 2020

   

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Care Design NY  is committed to keeping the provider community informed. Care Design NY created a COVID-19 Provider Resource page on Care Design NY website as well as a COVID-19 Special Edition Newsletter.  

The newsletters will be emailed weekly and also archived on the COVID-19 Provider page for your continued reference. The COVID-19 Provider Resource Page will be updated daily with announcements and critical information.

Updates to Care Design NY’s
COVID-19 Emergency Resource Search Tool (COVID-19 SOS) 


The Care Design NY COVID-19 Emergency Resource Search Tool (COVID-19 SOS) now has over 1900 resources available to help people connect to assistance, such as meal delivery, educational support, mental health services and many more. 


The search tool, which can be found here, was recently updated to offer an easier and more efficient way to find needed supports for individuals and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.  New features include: 

  • Resources specific to serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) are more easily identified. 
  • Main and sub-category resource listings for more accurate and specific search results. 
  • Downloadable documents which include statewide initiatives and financial supports for people impacted by COVID-19. 
Know of a resource or organization helping to support people during the COVID-19 pandemic? Please complete an online submission form with the information and it will be added to the search tool. 

     

Regulatory Waivers and Communications: 

Many State and Federal agencies continue to distribute memos or waivers related to service provisions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Care Design NY will update this section weekly with new information received.  Please be sure to visit our Provider Resource Page on the Care Design NY website for additional information:

COVID-19 Provider Resources 

Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act 
Care Design NY created a summary document about the stimulus payments as outlined in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. CLICK HERE for the summary document.

Medicaid Eligibility during COVID-19

Managed Care Community of Practice (MC-COP) COVID-19 Resources & Guidance 
MC-COP compiled a list of resources and guidance, released to date and sorted by agency. CLICK HERE for the guide along with recordings of past webinars on COVID-19.  MC-COP will keep this site updated as the situation evolves and new information is added.

National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) 
Telemedicine Resources during COVID-19 
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) offers several telemedicine resources for providers.  CLICK HERE for the information.

Major Disaster Declaration FEMA-4480-DR 
On March 20, New York State received a Major Disaster Declaration FEMA-4480-DR from President Trump for the COVID-19 pandemic. The declaration authorizes public assistance for category B Emergency Protective Measures to eligible applicants including critical and non-critical,essential, private, non-profit organizations. Applicant briefing webinars were held throughout this past week.   CLICK HERE for additional information on how to participate and submit for reimbursement.
