In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Care Design NY is committed to keeping the provider community informed. Care Design NY created a COVID-19 Provider Resource website page on the Care Design NY website as well as a COVID-19 Special Edition Newsletter.  

The newsletters will be emailed weekly and also archived on the COVID-19 Provider page for your continued reference. The COVID-19 Provider Resource Page will be updated daily with announcements and critical information.

Essential Workers

Care Design NY is grateful for all essential workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many organizations within the Care Design NY network are critical to supporting the most vulnerable people across the state. To recognize essential workers throughout the Care Design NY network of providers, please send stories, photos or thank you messages about your organization’s front line staff to  providerrelations@caredesignny.org

Essential Workers in NYS Can Make an 
Appointment to Get Tested for COVID-19 
Essential workers in New York State can now make an appointment to be tested for COVID-19 at one of several drive through or walk-in testing sites by calling the COVID-19 hotline at 1-888-364-3065 or online at covid19screening.health.ny.gov.

Regulatory Waivers and Communications
Many State and Federal agencies continue to distribute memos or waivers related to service provisions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Care Design NY will update this section weekly with new information received. Please be sure to visit the Provider Resource Page on the Care Design NY website for additional information. 

     

New York State Guidance and Initiatives

90-Day PPE Supply to be Required for all NYS Hospitals 
At his daily briefing on Sunday, May 3rd, Governor Cuomo announced all New York State hospitals will be required to have a 90 day supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in preparation for future outbreaks. He stated, “We are going to put in a state requirement now that every hospital has to have a 90-day supply, their own stockpile of all of the PPE equipment they could need for 90-day supply at the rate of usage that we saw with the COVID virus.” A recording of the briefing can be found here.  New York State Nourish New York Initiative
launched the “Nourish New York” initiative to quickly re-route surplus agricultural products to populations who need them most. The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and Department of Health released additional information along with funding by region. CLICK HERE  for more information.

Managed Care Community of Practice (MC-COP) COVID-19 Resources & Guidance 
MC-COP continues to compile a list of COVID-19 resources and guidance.  CLICK HERE for the information, along with recordings of past webinars on COVID-19. MC-COP will keep this site updated as new information is shared.  

Interagency Council of Developmental Disability Agencies (IAC) 
IAC offers many live training events for providers on COVID-19 related subject matter. CLICK HERE for webinar recordings of past live events.

Care Design NY COVID-19 Emergency Resource Search Tool: 
For resources and other supports related to the COVID-19 crisis, CLICK HERE to visit the Care Design NY COVID-19 “Search of Service” (SOS)  tool. Administration for Community Living (ACL):
The Administration for Community Living’s website provides regularly updated information and resources related to COVID-19 for Older Adults and People with Disabilities.  CLICK HERE for more information.
